This blog is a deep dive into the things that matter to me… & maybe you too.
I hope you find this page both reflective and restorative, leaving you better than when you found it. Lord knows our souls could use more of that.

POV: Grief brings life when the right people show up.
No one heals by being told what or how to think. People heal by being loved well… through presence. Loving anything requires intentionality, integrity, and vulnerability… But it starts with just being willing to be uncomfortable with uncertainty.

Pausing to Breathe: A Moment of Silence for Life Transitions
Sometimes we experience massive life events like an onslaught. That’s been my recent five years. Even the best life changes can make for an unsteady season. Sharing what I learned this past year about transitions, and pausing to catch up to yourself.

Building A Legacy: Why You Should Think About It Now
Why not think about the legacy you’re leaving now? Why wait until the latter season of your life to plan for how you want to be remembered? This post provides ideas and examples for how to write your eulogy in order to live more intentionally today.

Resilience Is A Choice: Why Believing in Your Ability Matters
Why do people stay stuck when they’re down? How do others rise above their circumstances? You can choose to drive your life or let it happen to you. Either way, you’re becoming someone by choice… make yourself proud.

How A Lack of Discipline in My Twenties Led to Laziness In My Thirties
Our culture is one of gluttony often parallel with the YOLO mentality, and slothfulness masked as “self-care” or “self-love” at times. Of course I believe in the need for self-care and rest as well as treating yourself… AND, let’s be honest, as a society we’ve become wayyyyy more indulgent in the name of self-preservation than what is balanced or even needed… in my relationship with discipline (really the lack thereof as of late), I noticed my lack of boundaries with indulgence versus self-control.

Visions of the Future: Thinking Forward to Align Your Life Now
We can go through our entire lives without a clear vision or ever identifying what our core values are. This blog is about both, as well as a series of practical exercises to guide you there. Thanks for being here :)

13 Years of Therapy Prepared Me for This: How to Choose Change Over Comfort & Learn to Like Yourself Again
This Monday, I’m starting a plan to live hyper intentionally for 90-days. These coming few months are me being willing to make a conscious choice to embody discipline and mental strength, repeatedly and consistently. Much like my 13 years of choosing therapy week after week, month after month, this is an exercise in mental toughness and commitment to bettering myself in body, mind, heart and spirit.

The Big Reframe: Creating A New Neural Pathway Forward for 2023
The turning of another new year can come with a hefty dose of expectation as we try to recalibrate and place (sometimes ridiculous) expectations on what we want to accomplish or the kind of people we want to grow into...
It’s not so much who we want to become that I hold a tension with, it’s the fasttrack path we can put ourselves on to try and accelerate our becoming beyond what is sustainable or sticky enough to produce the results we set our intentions upon.
In honor of this tension, I decided to use my last therapy session of 2022 to both digest this recent month and put in in service of this new year ahead.
So, this new year for me in a few words: intentional, creative, sustainable and future-focused.
And, I have a question for you…

Practicing faith when it would be easier not to.
An essay about the why behind deconstructing Christianity, and what it looks like to reconstruct your religious identity in a post-Christian culture.
